Next Week is Chinese New Year!

And every year whenever its Chinese New Year, everyone will make several cookies and pastries for their families and friends who comes to visit them. There is one pastry that they always make, and that is pineapple tart, the sweet and cute pineapple tart.

So, since Chinese New Year is coming, I decided to make my first own pineapple tart with my aunt’s help and suprisingly, I fall in love with the process of making these pineapple tarts. I really do. Hahaha!

Vegetable Tart

Hi There!

Its been 2 weeks since my last update on the blog and during those 2 weeks, I was a little busy and tired but now, I am okay. I can go through with it.

So, to start the new month, I make a savory tart filled with vegetables. I normally make a sweet tart rather than savory, so its kinda a new experience to me because first of all, I never eat savory tart. Most of the time, I eat sweet tart.

Anyway, here’s the recipe! 😀

Ingredients :

A. Tart :

  • 100 gr room temperature butter
  • 30 gr icing sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 175 gr all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

B. Filling :

  • 1/2 cup of cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup of cooked vegetables

Method :

  1. In a bowl, beat butter and sugar until smooth and light color and then beat in the egg yolk.
  2. Sift in the flour and cornstarch to the butter mixture and mix them with spatula until a dough is form. Put in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling by mixing the cream and egg.
  4. Take out the dough from the fridge and start to roll out the dough to the tart mold.
  5. Put the cooked vegetable on top of the tart and then pour the cream until halfway through the tart.
  6. Bake at 180 degree celcius for about 25-30 minutes [depending on the type of oven you are using].
  7. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Serve and Enjoy!

 

Smoothies 

One of my favorite drinks beside sprite and coffee is smoothie. I mean its healthy, right? do you agree? haha. 

A couple weeks ago, I made a smoothie the night before and then drink it the next morning. For one week, I drank smoothie in the morning and I feel very refreshing and healthy at the same time and some more, smoothies are very easy to make and you can use any kind of ingredients like fruits, veggies, you name it.

So, today I am going to share with you recipe of my homemade smoothie! So lets start!

Ingredients : 

  • Milk
  • Fruits or Veggies (you choose! :)) For these smoothies, I use grapes, strawberries, celeries, banana and apples!

Method : Blend the both ingredients until smooth.

Overnight Oatmeal.

Recently I’ve started a new instagram account where I share photos of my homemade food at home. This idea comes  to my mind because I want to practice my baking and cooking skills. My concept is to incorporate one ingredient to my homemade food for 6 days straight. After 6 days, I am going to change the ingredient.

So after trying for 2 months, I see a little bit improvement in my cooking and baking skills. and I say to myself why not share some of the recipes to the blog.

For this week, the ingredient I am going to use is rolled oats. And so here I am. Today I am going to share with you the recipe of my simple homemade overnight oatmeal.a

Ingredients :

  • 4 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of apple yogurt
  • 1/2 cup of sliced mango

Method :

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a jar and put in the fridge overnight.
  2. Serve and Enjoy.
